Attey da Halwa

Kids and everyone’s favorite.

Ingredients (servings for 4)

  • 1 cup wheat flour (atta)
  • 3/4th cup sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup desi ghee (clarified butter)
  • Some people add dry fruits to this. But I prefer it simple.

Procedure

  1. Prepare the sugar syrup by adding sugar to 2 cups of water and bringing it to boil, till the sugar is dissolved completely.
  2. In a kadhai add desi ghee and let it melt then add atta to it.
  3. Cook it on medium flame with continuous stiring till the color of the atta changes to golden brown and a mild aroma starts coming.
  4. Then add the hot sugar syrup to atta while continuously stiring and cook this on medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Turn of the flame and let this rest for 5-10 minutes.
  6. The halwa is ready and it will release all the extra desi ghee which can be used in some other dish.
